so I upgraded to 15.10 now my usb wont automount. If I boot with a device attached it will run fine, but if I plug it in once already booted it will not recognize it. any ideas?

I have exactly the same problem I can boot with device inserted and it will recognize but if I unplug and replug it will not recognize any ideas?

So I was trying to get my sound to function on my TV running out of HDMI, and found this

Thanks I figured it out, I had to enter grub from a su status I.E. sudo grub then it worked flawlessly, one question though grub still says windows xp on boot screen, not that this really matters,...

so tried that, and it says drive not found. did the whole grub was fine, typed root (hd0,4) and it came back with drive not found, ????? now vistini is installed, but cannot access ubuntu part of hdd

any suggustions what to do about that?

just wondering if it is possible to upgrade from xp to vista, without messing with the ubuntu side of my hdd.

fresh install xp/9.04 everything went smoothly, but now when I make any changes. I.E. set up screen resolution, set up compiz anything that should save when you close the window is lost on reboot....

any ideas on the auto disconnect/ orange light problem listed above????? still not working
