So, it seems to me, "only on this workspace" actually means "only on one workspace which may or may not be this one" ... (but that was too long to fit in the context menu)... no?

The problem is that the high contrast window control buttons are very low...
Getting this problem in PRECISE... should we delete the precise main binary i386 lists file?
If you really need a CD, you can do a minimal install:

No. I do get a message that it's shutting down, but then it doesn't shut down. Maybe it's shutting yours down? (Just joking!)

Another detail I've noticed about this... the border pops up on the top and left sides of maximized windows when switching from one tab to another... it's not just firefox, can do it in Gedit also.
