    Power settings annoyance

Please please please help me fix this annoying problem.

I already posted about this herebut had no luck with the responses.

Basically, if my computer automatically powers off, according to the settings in System>Preferences>Power Management then it won't turn back on properly.

Upon booting up, it starts to boot Ubuntu, the orange loader bar appears and then I see a lot of text...I can't remember it all but the words "parent" "usb" and "resume" are mentioned in there.

Then, my screen says "No signal detected" and turns off. The hard drive continues to be accessed but it never gets to the log in screen. I don't here the Ubuntu login screen drums or anything.

I have to hit reset and wait.

If ANYONE has any idea about this, please help. The alternative is leaving my computer on all the time and damaging the environment unnecessarily.

    Thanks,

    james

You could try gnome coufreq applet, included the gnome-applets package, or emifreq-applet. Note, alot of cpus aren't supported by either of these programs.

Thanks, I have gnome-applets already installed but I can't find coufreq applet or the emifreq-applet. Where are they?

By the way, I like your free rice link.
