of course i was meaning poulsbo-driver-2d and poulsbo-driver-3d
-> pls post here your psb packages version
    psb-firmware 0.30-0ubuntu1~904um1
    psb-modules 4.41.1-0ubuntu1~904um1
    xpsb-glx 0.18-0ubuntu1~904um1
    xserver-xorg-video-psb 0.31.0-0ubuntu1~904um1

also, let us know if my ACPI workaround works for you.
no success, with .13 kernel and your ACPI settings the situations seemed worst, so I returned to standard settings but I still have crashes.

When I try to boot with .11 kernel I obtain several errors, among whose:
    - DRM open failed
    - could not initialize irq handler
    - this driver currently needs DRM to operate

    sorry,
    no idea.
anybody else could help? it's hard to help you, cause i do not have this system configuration. during the weekend i will try to reproduce your problem in case i have enough time to spend on it.
btw, try to google for it, in my opinion is an ACPI issue, probably you need to play in this direction.

I have exactly the same problem after an xpsb update on wednesday (that's when I installed it)

I am running Jaunty, kernel .11

My sources.list is as follows: this is quite conventional, but a few weeks ago it also included the backports and proposed repositories.

why don't you people post a syslog?
clear it, and wait when the issue happens.
than post it here, could provide some clues...

The backports are there still, as for proposed, I don't think there is such a repository.

Re: Installing on the Dell Mini 12

For those that are getting the drm(etc etc) errors now, you need to do a apt-get install linux-generic

This should take you to 2.6.28.13 .

    Vaio P users;

add mem=1980MB to your kernel command line and you should be able to boot into X without the psb module bombing out .

After the xpsb update my .11 kernel stopped letting X start, but the .13 suddenly started working just fine... Fortunately I did not have to monkey around with anything, other than modprobe wl to get my wireless up and running again.

in conclusion, actual version of drivers is quite unusable.
