here we have a bug report on launchpad
https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/ubun...sb/+bug/393290
For me seems that change xorg.conf helps, at least a have not any freezes for more then 5 hours of using my netbook, it's the best result I ever have. Thank's for posting, I will continue with testing.
hello satbunny,
almost every log file linux produces, is located in /var/log and subfolders
you have different log files, each for a different "thing" eg: system, X, boot, security...
depending from your distribution and configuration, some files could change name.
every log is a txt file and in case you delete it, the system provides to create it again.
the file i'm interested in is syslog.
you can clear the file using
> /var/log/syslog
also, you can see what the system is writing on the log file in realtime using
tail -f logname
hope this helps
bye,
fabio
ps: is "you people" offensive? clarify me the situation, in order to avoid misunderstandings...tnx

i tried the uxa acceleration fix in xorg and it did not work. and it may be too early to confirm, but i removed the line out of xorg so it looks the way it originally did, and i havnt had a freeze yet. wtf?
It seems to be a completely random thing... sometimes it freezes five minutes in, other times it never gets me and I shut it down properly.
