Video Streaming Problems

Hi there, I am using Ubuntu 11.10 and I have several problems when I am streaming videos from YouTube or Google Videos. The first one is that the video does not load only the sound, then if the video loads it appears without the controls for: Play, Forward, Backward, Sound and FullScreen.

Is this a problem with my hardware or do I need to get some packages to improve video streamig. I thank you for your help.

How did you install flash?

I downloaded the Adobe-flashplugin from the repositories.

I suggest uninstalling flash, and get the Flash-Aid firefox add-on. Let us know how it goes.

Just for reference, I'm using the 64-bit version of adobe-flashplugin in the partner repositories and have no problems with streaming. I do have a relatively fast machine (Core 2 Quad) and, more importantly, an NVIDIA 9500GT that enables flashplayer to use hardware acceleration. I'm connected over G wireless to a Verizon FiOS line, so I'm usually not suffering from network lags unless the remote server is under heavy load.
