Ubuntu file locations

Hello, i apologize if i am posting in the wrong place or am posting about something that has been posted already, I am new around here.

I have been have been unable to boot ubuntu on my netbook that i installed with wubi. It is installed on the same partition as Windows 7. I was wondering if and how i would be able to find all of my personal documents that i have on ubuntu so that i may back them all up before re-installing ubuntu.

If the root.disk is missing, then you have to get it back prior to recovering your data.

Well i would use the solution that you posted Rodney, but i am unable to find the disk image in the ubuntu folder on C. There is nothing that i can use.
